How does MTN Zone work?
First you need to register for MTN Zone to activate the cell broadcast function on your phone. When you enter an MTN Zone, your phone will automatically show the discount available to you in that region. On your cell phone device, you will see two messages:
- The first number that you see on your screen refers to the discount you will get when you make MTN-to-MTN calls.
- The second number on your screen refers to the discount you will receive when you call other networks.
Sign up for MTN Zone
To sign up for MTN Zone, you need only do either of the following:
- Dial 211 and follow the voice prompts.
- Enter *205*7# from your MTN cell phone and you will receive a message to say you have now changed your tariff to MTN Zone.
You must activate the Cell Broadcast functionality on your phone to be able to tell the discount being offered in the area you are in. You can turn the discount message off by disabling Cell Broadcast (Info Service, Area Info, and Cell Info) on your cell phone.
MTN Zone rates are applicable at any time of the day. There is no need to wait for peak or off-peak times.
